Remembering the Words of John F. Kennedy, the 35th President of the United States of America

I LOOK FORWARD TO AN AMERICA WHICH COMMANDS RESPECT THROUGHOUT THE WORLD NOT ONLY FOR ITS STRENGTH BUT FOR ITS CIVILIZATION AS WELL.

I AM CERTAIN THAT AFTER THE DUST OF CENTURIES HAS PASSED OVER OUR CITIES, WE, TOO, WILL BE REMEMBERED NOT FOR VICTORIES OR DEFEATS IN BATTLE OR IN POLITICS, BUT FOR OUR CONTRIBUTION TO THE HUMAN SPIRIT.

I LOOK FORWARD TO AN AMERICA WHICH WILL NOT BE AFRAID OF GRACE AND BEAUTY.

THIS COUNTRY CANNOT AFFORD TO BE MATERIALLY RICH AND SPIRITUALLY POOR.

These inspiring words, engraved on the marble walls of The John F. Kennedy Center for the Performing Arts in Washington, DC, still echo the call for healing today in a world that continues to be plagued from hatred, polarization, and uncertainty.

Turkish Americans can play an active role in creating a better world by endorsing Kennedy’s vision for hope, inclusiveness, and realization of “grace and beauty.” Participate in the American political arena. And, let your elected officials hear your voice for peace, justice, equality, and opportunity for all!

Yurtta sulh, cihanda sulh! / Peace at home, peace in the world!
