Letter from Florida Congressman Deutch justifying his support for HR1165 Condemning Azerbaijan’s military operation in Nagorno-Karabakh

I just received the email copied below from anti-Turkic Congressman Ted Deutch, a member of the the U.S. House of Representatives, Committee on Foreign Affairs who represents the 22nd District of Florida which encompasses the coastline of Broward County to southern Palm Beach County in south Florida.

It is in response to an email I had sent to Rep. Deutch on October 14, 2020 via the “Constant Contact” system pursuant to a joint letter I had received on that date from the Turkish American National Steering Committee (TASC), the U.S. Azeris Network (USAN) and the Congress of Azerbaijani Societies of America (CASA).

I have included Rep. Deutch’s reply for everyone’s information about this particular Democratic Party Congressman’s support for House Resolution 1165 condemning Azerbaijan’s military operation in Nagorno-Karabakh and denouncing Turkish interference in the conflict ( www.congress.gov/bill/116th-congress/house-resolution/1165/text ).”

I could only shake my head in disbelief upon reading Rep. Deutch’s comment in his letter that “The recent accord has not changed my commitment, or the commitment of the United States, to working with the international community through the OSCE toward a lasting peace for Nagorno Karabakh, and to discouraging Turkish and Russian interference in the region.” As if he does not know that Turkey is a member and Russia is a co-chair of the OSCE Minsk Group and that somehow the other two nations which are also co-chairs, the United States and France, have a greater right to interfere in that region halfway across the globe.
